You Are Invited to an Important Update on Homelessness
Last fall, our homeless population was one of the hot topics with a lot of conversations, newspaper articles, and media coverage. Now that spring is here (well, at least most days), Artemis thought it was time for an update. Artemis Women has invited representatives from some of the major homeless services to give us an update on how our homeless community survived the winter and how initiatives to deal with the homeless have fared. Join us on Tuesday, April 25, 5:30 PM, at the Marian House Soup Kitchen, 14 W. Bijou Street, for an insightful and lively panel discussion on “The State of Homelessness in Colorado Springs.” Panel participants will discuss the challenges and the plan moving forward:
- Larry Yonker, CEO, Springs Rescue Mission
- Gene Morris, Director, RJ Montgomery Shelter
- Jennifer Polk, COO, Catholic Charities of Central Colorado/Marian House Soup Kitchen
- Greg Morris, CEO, Ascending to Health Respite Care
Refreshments from Colorado Springs Rescue Mission will be featured. To help cover our costs, we are charging a nominal $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers. Please register here. And please invite your family, friends, and colleagues to join us for this important update.
